Not been to Greece for 40 years but from what you say the food doesn’t seem to have changed a lot. The same, dare I say (hiding behind my laptop now) with quite a lot of Italy. For innovation you should go to Spain. Just amazing food wherever you go. Loving your column BTW.

I am glad someone is sharing my view on this. It all depends on where you coose to go I guess. The same can be said about the Turkish spots where tourists seem to favour. The classics remain the same, some of them bordering on plain boredom, but then if you go to small chef restaurants in Istanbul there is wonderful food to be had.
